Committee Members Needed
As the AGM draws near, the important work of the committee to keep badminton open in both Darwin and Alice Springs needs to be discussed by the members. This year the committee has created an information sheet to help members understand what the committee does and hopefully how they can help to share the load. 2022 will see some changes in the focus of the committee as the sports arena adjusts to the changes caused by COVID, especially in the upper echelons of the hierarchy. The Australian Institute of Sport is a major provider of funding for Badminton Australia and as such stipulates their requirements to access this funding. Badminton Australia requires States and Territories to implement these requirements in our clubs and playing groups so that we can benefit from this funding as well. We also have Sport and Recreation stipulating the requirements we need to meet for NT Government funding and grants. As is the committees responsibility to make sure all are shuttles are lined up in a row so the doors can stay open for everyone to be able to play, we are asking our members to join the committee or a sub-committee to make sure we are performing to the highest possible level for the development of badminton in the NT.
Please take a minute to read the committee information sheet and help us to keep the doors open into the future.
